Help on searching regional information database
Last updated by roman on Wed, 10/05/2006 - 11:05.
- Search terms are case isensitive
-
It is possible to search for all terms except few ones
(and AND or OR not NOT ") -
Database is divided into fields, you may search them all at once, or only some of them (ie. title + name of author)
-
Searching phrases - enclose search terms "inside quotes"
Example:"stavební činnost"
-
For more advanced searching use boole operators AND OR NOT (and or not is also possible)
example:
komenský and nivnice - finds only records with both words Kašpar OR Kašparová - Kašpar or Kašparová or they both slavnosti NOT hody - "slavnosti", but not ne hody -
It is possible to use wildcard* on the end of words
Example:slav* - look up words: slaví, slavil, slavili, slavný, Slávek, Slavkov, slavnost ... -
Advanced queries may be grouped inside brackets()
Example:(fašank OR masopust) NOT hody - finds records where there is "fašank" or "masopust" or both these term , but not with "hody" -
Experienced users might want to use combined queries with field labes. The syntax is as follows:
field=(word1 word2 word...)
field="word1 word2 word..."
Use of operators inside quotes and brackets is allowed.array | example --------------------------------------------------- au | au=(jan amos komenský) ti | ti=(nadpis OR název) titulku kw | kw=(klíčové slovo) src | src=(slovácké noviny) mdt | mdt="908" OR regionalistikaif the field is not entered, the search is made upon above fields that were checked below the form.
- Results may be sorted by relevance, title and record number.
